Dancing With The Stars - Week 8 Recap - Monday, November 7, 2011

Karina Smirnoff & J.R. Martinez land perfect 60 on DWTS.
On Dancing With The Stars, Monday, November 7, 2011, there was a tremendous amount of clarity as to the future of the competition. I think it was very clear who is the team to beat and we also saw who will not make it to next week's semi-finals. In the process, the first two perfect scores of the season were recorded - the bar is now really high.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff did something that no one else has done on this season of Dancing With The Stars - scored two perfect 30's on their two dances.

This week, each couple danced their regular dance, plus an "Instant Dance" - a routine they practiced all week, but were not given the music they would dance to until 20 minutes before their performance.

Each couple, after their first dance, selected an envelop with their music and then had only 20 minutes to practice the dance. The "Instant Dance" would be scored just like the other dance, and the combined total and fan voting will determine who goes home.

Martinez and Smirnoff, scoring a perfect 60, have emerged as the clear cut favorites to win the Mirror Ball Trophy on Dancing With The Stars. They are firing on all cylinders. Martinez's dancing has reached perfection, and he's a war hero. That is a powerful combination moving forward.

On the other end of the spectrum. It is pretty safe to say that Nancy Grace will be eliminated on Tuesday. Len Goodman said, "You've been to the ball. It's midnight and it's time to go home." A rather blunt comment, but truthful. Grace and partner Tristan MacManus only scored a combined 44, with the other three teams in the 50's and the leaders at 60. A 7 point deficit should prove to be insurmountable and guarantee that Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke (51) will keep dancing into the semi-finals next week.

We got a good dose of clarity on Dancing With The Stars - Week 8 - Monday, November 7, 2011 - Martinez is the one to beat. Grace will most likely be headed home.
