Roger And None Of His Friends Are Changing Their Profile Pictures. But He Might. HELP!

The old profile picture. Should I change it?
Since I've been on Facebook and Twitter, I've had the same profile picture. I believe it is good to stay consistent, so that people can spot you. If you change your picture all the time, you get lost in the News Feed or on the Twitter highway. Based on the fact that my blog can be controversial, funny and informative and I'm trying to build my own unique identity on the web, I'm announcing that "Roger and none of his friends are changing their profile pictures. But he might. HELP!

You're all familiar with the picture above. It was taken about five or six years ago and I liked it. I'm smiling. I seem happy. It's in a home I lost after my business folded. (That was when I was doing real well.) If my mom were alive, she'd want to pinch my cheeks. I look friendly, harmless and trustworthy. But is that the real me?

Babyface #1, The Full Shot.
I have an edge to me here in my new world that the picture doesn't quite communicate. I suffer from a variety of mental illnesses. I don't smile that often. I grit my teeth and type away for hours every day on a white Mac iBook G4. It's my world.

As I write, I quietly vent my anger at the world and things around us through this blog. And I've managed to make a lot of people laugh. LOL, LMAO, ROFL, LMFAO, WTF and "Gee, you're an idiot" all come as comments on FB, Twitter and on this blog.

So, I'm looking to make a change. Something that fits the way I really feel on the inside.

The new picture I have is actually older than my current photo. But I was heavier in that picture, which is more representative of my current weight. The picture was made by my ex-wife, a fabulous graphic designer, in PhotoShop. She took my face and put it on our daughter's body. Our daughter was about 9 months old at the time of the picture. She's 10 now. Face it, the picture is hilarious.

Babyface #2, The Closeup.
A few years ago, a number of my Facebook friends said, "Profile picture all the way. Go for it."

Now, I need your help. This is a big step. Once I commit, there is no going back. I am not a flip-flopper. As you can see, there are two versions of the picture. Babyface #1 is a full body shot. However, when you shrink it down to a Facebook or Twitter thumbnail, something will be lost in the process.

That leaves me with Babyface #2, the closeup. That picture will jump out a bit more on Facebook and Twitter thumbnails, but you don't see those squishy baby arms. Something about those arms will let chicks know I'm working out. Or I own a weight to hold a door open.

What picture do I use? Or do I stay the same? ?????? This is my conundrum of the month.

Should I change from the nice smiley guy to Mr. Babyface Vegas?

Enter you comments below and I will take them into consideration. You can leave the comments Anonymously, so don't feel afraid that I will come after you. After all the harsh crap I've written about Osama bin Laden, I have to keep looking over my shoulder for the Taliban or Al-Queda.

  1. I like the first baby pic, it shows the comidec side of you and you could use it for the comedy post and switch back and forth but that would confuse this issue further and you are looking for stability. I would like to see what it would look like if you used it on Twitter, so I could get a better feel for the final product. I would say that if you post mostly comic relief post, then go for the baby pic and show off those fantastic arms but if you are mostly serious, then stay with what you have. Thats my story and I am sticking to it.

You Just Have To Watch It. Absolutely Incredible !!!!!
